Margarito P. Garza, age 71, passed away on October 13, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born on June 10, 1938, in Prairie Lee, Texas to Miguel and Ruth Garza. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Emma, whom he met at Fox Tech High School. He served 15 years in the Army National Guard and reached the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
Considered an Icon in his industry, he was for over thirty six years, the successful business owner of Accutronics, Inc. He was involved in many local and national business organizations. He served as President of the Texas Parking Association, National Time Equipment Association, and National Office Machine Dealers Association. He has served on the board of Alamo Work Source Development and SER Jobs for Progress.
Mr. Garza loved to play golf and truly enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren, especially their trips to the coast every summer. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen, Holy Spirit Catholic Church and St. Matthew Catholic Church, where he coached for his children and later his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, father, Miguel and grandson, Shane Garcia.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Emma Gonzales Garza; daughter, Brenda Villarreal; son, Dylan Garza and wife Sharon; daughter, Rachelle Gonzalez and husband Vincent; brothers, Ambassador Oliver P. Garza and wife Yolanda, and Rudy Garza; grandchildren, Dylan, Brandi, Skyler, Tim, Lauren, Kelton and Brianna; great-grandson, Izaiah; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife, Mary Lou (Lisa) Hernandez-Garza; step-daughters, Stacey Hernandez and Shannon Trejo and husband, Gabriel and grandchildren, Alex, Courtney, Anthony and Sky.
